Twin sisters Nikki and Brie have officially dropped “Bella” from their names and will now be known as the Garcia Twins. The sisters have changed their social media handles to reflect the change and have also rebranded their podcast.

Nikki and Bella Drop ‘Bella’ From Their Names

Wrestling News points out that the Bella Twins name is trademarked by WWE. The sisters were formerly wrestlers for the organization. Now, Nikki and Brie are rebranding as the Garcia Twins. They announced the change on social media Tuesday.

Nikki’s Instagram handle is now @nikkigarcia, while Brie’s is simply @brie. They also announced that their podcast, which was previously titled The Bellas Podcast, will now be called The Nikki & Brie Show. They posted a clip teasing, “This next chapter of our lives is about taking it to the next level.”

Meanwhile, Nikki took to Instagram stories to share the sisters’ old headshots, which are labeled “Nicole Garcia” and “Brianna Garcia.” She wrote, “I missed you … And you!”

The Sisters Recently Criticized WWE

The news that Nikki and Brie are changing their names comes less than two months after they expressed criticism over WWE’s failure to pay tribute to several female wrestlers during a recent WWE Raw 30th anniversary special.

“How didn’t they showcase anything from the the Women’s Evolution?” Nikki wondered during an Instagram live in January, referring to WWE Evolution, which was focused on female wrestlers.

Brie chimed in to say, “There’s a couple other girls … there’s a bunch of us they don’t want to show. That’s fine.”

Based on the news of their name change, it seems like the sisters are ready to distance themselves from WWE. According to their announcement, their new chapter is about “being unapologetically us and fiercely walking through that open door.”
