1. She Started Doing Karaoke as a Kid

Local news in Casey’s home state of Florida revealed that she used to perform karaoke at a restaurant called Shoeless Joe’s when she was a kid. The manager said she performed to a “packed house” and “nailed it.”

“I wanted to do it so bad, and I just went up there and asked,” Casey recalled. “I was singing for a while, and no one was really listening except for my family, but it was really fun.”

2. Casey was Rejected by Other Talent Shows

Casey has been chasing her dreams for a while now. She even released a video of her singing “Cups (When I’m Gone).” Before Idol, she tried out for other talent shows, but didn’t make it on.

The singer told local news that she auditioned for the producers of America’s Got Talent and The Voice, but she was rejected. She thought American Idol was “worth a shot,” but didn’t expect to be accepted.

3. Gwen Stefani is One of Her Idols

Casey may be competing on American Idol, but one of her idols is former The Voice coach Gwen Stefani. She paid tribute to the singer, along with several other women she looks up to, for International Women’s Day.

Other female vocalists Casey admires are Stevie Nicks, Alanis Morissette, Avril Lavigne, Taylor Momsen, Amy Winehouse, Billie Eilish, and Judy Garland. She even covered “Over the Rainbow” on Oscars Night.

4. Casey Got a Shout-Out From Mötley Crüe

For her audition on American Idol, Casey performed “Live Wire” by Mötley Crüe. The band linked to her performance on Twitter afterward, calling it an “awesome rendition” and congratulating her on getting a Golden Ticket to Hollywood.

In an interview, Casey said she was “screeching” when she saw the tweet. Band members Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee also posted about her on their Instagram.

“I was losing my mind,” she said of the shout-outs.

5. She Always Wears Her Lucky Necklaces

You might have noticed that Casey is always wearing a couple of necklaces on stage. She wore them in her audition, and she’s worn them for every performance since.

In an interview, Casey called them her “luck necklaces,” adding that she never takes them off.

“I feel like if I have them off … I just feel kind of naked,” she said. “I need them on.”
