If you have been on TikTok recently, you may have noticed a whole lot of pictures featuring singer Lana Del Rey. But they are not typical glamour shots of the 35-year-old songstress. Instead, fans are changing their profile pictures to Lana smiling in front of a burning car and are pledging themselves to the Lana Cult.

Lana Del Rey Inspires Fans To Create The Lana Cult

The Lana Cult is the name of the fanbase of those who simply love Lana and her music. They decided that it is time that Lana takes over TikTok and her content should be spread all over the platform. Lana Is Set To Release A New Album Next Month

The rise of the Lana Cult on TikTok comes a month before Lana is set to release some new music. Lana’s seventh album Chemtrails Over the Country Club will be available on March 19, 2021. Frankly, this is some serious promotion for her ahead of the album drop.

She previously came under fire for a now-deleted Instagram comment about the newly released album cover. “I have always been extremely inclusive without even trying to. My best friends are rappers, my boyfriends have been rappers.” Many found an issue with the fact that she immediately associated rappers with people of color. Fans called her out for this generalization and stereotype.

This came after Lana caused a stir after name-dropping several popular female artists for not getting the same amount of backlash for their music in 2020. She posted the controversial lengthy statement on Instagram. Lana referenced Beyonce, Doja Cat, Ariana Grande, Camila Cabello, Cardi B, Kehlani and Nicki Minaj which did not go over well with some of her fans. She later posted an explanation to try and clear up the confusion.
